MARIA DEL MAR - FOUNDER

María Del Mar Echeverría, a proud Costa Rican, established MARE Design Center in 2011 with a vision to elevate the standards of interior design in Costa Rica, blending luxury, sustainability, and craftsmanship. Guided by her love for nature, adventure, and wellness, she created a space where the highest quality materials and timeless designs could come together, creating harmonious and sophisticated interiors for her clients.
María’s unwavering commitment to excellence and her belief in the transformative power of design laid the foundation for MARE’s philosophy. With a BA in Advertising and an MBA in Finance, Economics & Sustainable Development from INCAE Business School, she combined her business acumen with her passion for sustainability, ensuring every project was rooted in both quality and environmental consciousness.
As an active member of the Board of Directors of ProParques, María was dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of Costa Rica, a value that remains central to MARE’s approach today.

Kristal brings a global perspective to MARE Design Center, shaped by over 10 years abroad. Her expertise in cultural diversity and client relationships enhances MARE’s bespoke, client-centric approach, ensuring every project is tailored and seamless. With a background in journalism, Kristal excels in clear communication, fostering trust and transparency throughout the design process. Her passion for sustainable design, fine arts, and culinary experiences drives her commitment to delivering luxury interiors that embody MARE’s values of quality, elegance, and craftsmanship.

Mariana is at the forefront of MARE’s interior design projects, bringing her extensive expertise in crafting high-end, bespoke, sustainable spaces. With a Master’s Degree from the Florence Institute of Design in Italy, she seamlessly combines Italian craftsmanship with Costa Rican cultural richness, ensuring each project embodies MARE’s commitment to luxury, sustainability, and timeless elegance. Her approachable and professional nature allows her to understand and integrate each client’s unique vision, delivering personalized solutions that enhance and elevate living spaces with both beauty and functionality.

His background in construction and specialized training provide him with the expertise to navigate complex installations, contributing to the seamless execution of MARE’s luxury interiors.
